Post Modern Theology SERIES explores the theme that liberal theology left off. The possibility of miracle in the 21st century world.
Liberal theology killed God culturally.
Leading us to the society of death.
Death of culture, death of trust, death by lifestyle, suicide of the young and so on. Its prevalant effect is death. The death of hope. The death it brings is one of euthanasia. All of these 'deaths' followed in its wake. Liberal thinking doubts everything and trusts no one. Its political crime is that is does not trust us;'we the people' it assumes its control over us. Yet they do not doubt their own delusions; spending ten billions on an uncollectable debt, driving away the geese that laid golden eggs. Promising OECD status to a nation that is not structured to sustain it. Trusting none.
Dare we include love in our imagination?
The artist trusts in this certainty.
The artist asserts life to a culture. Breathing clarity into the poisoned air of a tax ridden false freedom. The Modernist God of Liberal Democracy costs a poor man far more in the real rate of taxes than he gains. (Real Tax rate for Income, GST, ACC, Rates, withholding, petrol, fees etc is a compulsory 50%!) What could you do with half your own money back in your hands. And does liberal democracy deliver to you the same value? I doubt it. Our indulgence has been killing us. As the Zen master said 'Greatest freedom, greatest discipline.'
