Kawau Island Just After Sunrise
Original painting by Gravity George.
This painting shows Lidgard House and Lidgard Wharf at Smelting House Bay, Kawau Island, New Zealand. Lidgard House is shown twice. It is based on two photographs taken just after sunrise one October morning. At the same time, I pointed the camera the other way and took the photograph upon which I based another of my Kawau paintings, Dawn Pixcellation on Kawau Island. The photo for that painting was taken from a point on the beach in this painting, about a quarter of the way in from the right.

Acrylic on canvas, mounted on stretcher frame. Painted around the edges.
Hooks and wire fitted and ready to hang on the wall.
