Late 1800s ? Oil and sand by CHEZAR
- No reserve
- Closed: Mon 13 Aug 2007, 10:03 pm
An excellent and very unusual painting using by the looks of things a mixture of oil and sand that was introduced and used by the late 1800s artist Chezar. As I am not an art expert etc, am selling as is. (so do NOT bid, except on that understanding because I can not guarantee its authenticity, do not have that knowledge or ability etc) Have had comments that it looks genuine, that it might be a copy, and so on. So may be genuine, may not. The painting of course has great depth and texture and some of the cobblestones for example stick out approx 5mm. From what I can make out, this was originally painted on a canvas or such, and is now glued? onto a bison board(or such) for rigidity. From what little I know, this painting is very much in line and style with his other similar works. Would be great to have a 100 year old plus original art work by a recognized Artist of merit. Measures approx 1210mm x 600mm. Will courier as is slightly too big for parcel post. A great opportunity to get a very different piece of art work that may be worth a lot of money. (or may not be worth a lot of money) Buy now is close to reserve for keen investors and art collectors and people who would just like a neat well done very different piece. Thanks.
