Clearly signed bottom right C H Howorth in dark watercolour.

Condition: Estate realization. Minor foxing in top half of artwork. Frame sturdy but deseves new gold framing. Artwork has moved 1mm from mat (fixed with re-framing) Condition reflected in bargain price.

Well represented listed painter. In Sargent, Christchurch and Hocken among others.

Exhibitions included Wellington Fine Arts 1883, NZ Industrial 1885, NZ & South Sea 1889-90, NZ Academy of Fine Arts Wellington 1897-1911, Otago Arts Society 1904-1937, St Louis USA 1904 and Auckland Society of Arts 1914- 1918.

Hand written sticker verso suggests this work may have been in the NZ Academy Exhibition of 1908.
