YOUR CHOICE OF SIDE PANELS - 3 DIFFERENT DESIGNS TO CHOOSE FROM
3 Canvases:
Middle panel: 101 x 40 x 3.8cm
2 outer panels: 76 x 25 x 3.8cm
MANAIA: Spiritual Guardian, Provider, Protector over the air, waters and land.
The manaia is the carrier of supernatural powers, an iwi guardian, to ward of danger, to frighten away intruders. The manaia is a bird-like figure, a spiritual and mythical creature.
Traditionally depicted with the head of a bird, the body of a man and the tail of a fish with fierce facial features - representing sky, earth and sea and the balance between. Protects the wearer from evil.
Little is known about the true significance of specific designs, but there are certain common elements. The figures are usually depicted in side profile - part in the spiritual world, part in this.
The paua shell (Eye) resembles the beauty that surrounds you, and within oneself to have high self-esteem and awareness of what is happening around you...
Signed & Dated on Front (not signed when pics were taken or varnished) to be signed on right bottom corner of right panel.
Signed, Titled and dated on back.
Acrylic on High Grade Boxed/Stretched Canvas with 2 coats of Varnish for protection. Sides Painted & Ready to hang.
