'Tui Mahira' 2011

A nosey tui peers over the top of some harakeke flowers to see what is going on below him. To capture the iridescent nature of the tui's plumage, subtle shifts of colour are layered up to create depth, recreating the way light reflects the texture of the feathers and different hues. The background colour is very similar to 'Robin's Egg Blue' of the Karen Walker range.
