The Wedgewood Museum opening in 2008 enabled its collection designed by the Museums, Libraries and Archives Council as being of outstanding national importance, now to be shared with the widest possible audience. The new displays were awarded the prestigious Art Fund Prize for Museums and Galleries 2009. Described by the judges as "extraordinary", it brilliantly highlights the marriage of art design, manufacturing and commerce through three centuries.
