Description
18 Km from Nelson and originally known as Shroeders Mistake, Cable Bay as it was renamed in 1926, was home to the first overseas telegraph cable to New Zealand which was opened in February 1876. The predominantly shingle beach connecting to Pepin Island is a result of unique currents and geology working together.
