Romantic Expressionist Howard Behrens is America’s modern master of the palette knife. Immortalizing the world’s most desirable destinations via his mastery of style, color layering, shadow and light, he captures their innate radiance. Citing Monet and Van Gogh as primary influences, he is adept at bringing viewers in to his scenes with an Impressionist’s spontaneity and perspective. A former government graphic artist, Behrens now leads the idyllic painter’s lifestyle, finding his muse where he may. Recently, Behrens was an official artist of the 2002 Winter Olympics and gives painting demonstrations on art-themed cruises.
