All kids love Wordfinds!

Wordfinds are seen as a ‘fun’ activity and these ones are a little bit special as they have been formatted to best support children, as they learn the essential words for Reading and Writing.

This 30 page set of Teaching Timesavers includes three sets of Wordfinds based on the NZCER Essential Spelling Lists 5-7, which will be emailed to you, as a set of .pdf files.

This special Wordfind formatting includes

• all lower case letters – you don’t want them writing their Spelling words in CAPITALS.
• no shared letters to cause confusion
• no backwards spelling of words - the activities are to reinforce correct spelling!
• no unnecessary extra letters – I have blacked out these spaces instead.

There are 10 Wordfinds, featuring different words, for each List.

Each page in the resource is specially set up to reinforce the learning of the list words. The page is divided into three sections.

• Read the words
• Find the words
• Write the Words

These resources could be individual activities or used as a buddy activity with students testing each other on the list words.

Bring the document up on the monitor and you also have a class activity!
