This Resource, which will be emailed to you as a .pdf file, contains 138 Ready to Read Colour coded words and will be a great addition to your Daily 5 Word Work.

The cards can be

• Laminated, cut and put on to a bookring.
• Enlarged and put up in the classroom.
• Reduced and glued into students books.

There are 14 cards (10cm x 4cm) to an A4 page. Each set of words is colour coded to the level.

The Font used is NZ Basic Script recommended in the MOE Handwriting Guidelines, so the cards can be used for Reading and Writing, as a Daily 5 Activity.

It is impossible to find a definative list of HFW because every school likes to individulise their lists, - but this resource contains most of common inclusions. (Also included in the file is some blank colour coded cards if you feel a 'must have' word has been omitted.

If you don't want the cards on a ring, students can sort through the cards and place them into two columns under the headings - 'Words I Know' and 'Words I am Working on'.
