"Pierre La Mure (1909 - 1976) was a French author. He was born in Nice, and is best-known as the author of the 1950 novel 'Moulin Rouge' about the life of the French artist Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec. This book was the basis of the classic 1952 movie of the same name. La Mure also produced a life of Cécile and Felix Mendelssohn and the biographical novel Claire de Lune on the life of French composer Claude Debussy... Moulin Rouge is a 1952 British drama film directed by John Huston, produced by John and James Woolf for their Romulus Films company and released by United Artists.
