Bernard Ferguson "Captain John Niven". 127 page hardbound book with dust-wrapper written by Ex NZ Governor general Sir Bernard Fergusson & published by Collins in 1972. The book is in "very Good Plus" condition. Some spottyness on the edges & a little discolouration inside back cover, otherwise excellent. The dust-wrapper is in "Good Plus" condition. Light edge-wear, soiling to back cover & light discolouration to plain side. Although the main character in this book is called John Nivens the book is based on the life of John Bollons a seafarer whom Sir Bernard Fergusson met as a boy & admired all his life. Sir Bernard Fergusson was Governor-General of NZ from 1962 to 1967 & was the third of the Fergusson family to have a similar role in NZ.
