Ivan Deveson is best known as a Lord Mayor of Melbourne and Chairman of Channel 7. He was also the Foundation Chancellor of Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT), the CEO of Nissan Australia and Director of The Commonwealth Bank of Australia, MIM Holdings and many other corporate and charitable roles. What is less know about this great Australian is his humble origins and rise to become one of this country's pioneering Internationalists, living in five different countries whilst a senior executive with General Motors. Deveson's awareness of his belief that 'whatever you do in life, don't do it all your life' evolved when he began the part of his career that involved non-executive directorships in big and small businesses and challenging roles in microeconomic reform, not-for-profit groups, training, education, mentoring, and motivating thousands on the public speaking circuit. Throughout his journey, Ivan Deveson has strengthened his commitment to high standards of ethics, social justice, and the ability to move naturally and comfortably among all people. He describes his years as Lord Mayor of Melbourne (1996-1999) as a wonderful experience 'in the A to Z of life'.
