The famous account of Maxwell's life in the Western Highlands, with his tame otters. Illustrated.

Blue cloth with bumping to corners, cipped, scuffed edges of dust jacket, some foxing spots to front edge

'Ring of Bright Water' represents Gavin Maxwell's account of his life at Camusfearna, a remote cottage in the western Highlands, and in particular the two otters, Mijbil and Edal, who became his constant and much-loved companions.

Maxwell's book describes how he brought a Smooth- coated Otter back from Iraq and raised it in 'Camusfearna' (Sandaig), on the west coast of Scotland. Hailed a masterpiece when it was first published, the story of Gavin Maxwell's life with otters on the remote west coast of Scotland remains one of the most lyrical, moving descriptions of a man's relationship with the natural world.
