(Scotsman) Rev Peter Marshall’s (USA) widow wrote this book after he died of heart attack, aged 46. Bestseller 1952-62.

Excerpt Page 124:
“Peter snatched time off from the office to go shopping with me. Whatever we were selecting, whether rugs or draperies or upholstered furniture, it was hard to keep from getting everything in blue. Fortunately, I liked blue, too.
“Another of Peter’s requirements was that all furniture had to be sturdy. That meant that it must not wobble when he threw his full one hundred and ninety pounds against it. Many a furniture salesman must have held his breath as his furniture underwent this earth-shaking test.
“My husband marveled over and over at the change he already saw in himself so soon after marriage. Earlier, he had written me: ‘I find it difficult to realize that Peter Marshall, the nomad, the lone wolf, should at last be thinking in terms of china and furniture and rents and house. . . but I confess to you that I like the new picture much better”.
