Tears in the Wind: The Lance O'Sullivan story
By Diane Haworth

Paperback, 2004, 239pages, good condition, crease in cover

Lance OSullivan might as well been born in the saddle. Raised with thoroughbred horses and within a well-known racing dynasty - his father Dave was a champion trainer, and his brother Paul now trains in Hong Kong - Lance went on to become one of Australasias most successful jockeys, regularly winning the annual racing premiership and taking out five of the possible six $1 million races run in the 1990s. He won the Japan Cup on Horlicks, at the time the world richest race with a $5 million stake, has taken out almost every major race in Australasia and rode to further success in Hong Kong.

Lance is New Zealands most successful jockey, winning the jockeys championship title for a record 12 seasons, and is now a trainer himself, responsible for the prestigious Wexford Stable. His story is one of sporting excellence, dedication, hard work and stunning success, along with crippling injury and the hard physical grind and injury record that comes with an incredibly demanding profession. As well, he shares an inside view of what happens behind the stable doors in the Sport of Kings.
