Maori- A Photographic and Social History -Revised Edition by Michael King
Illustrated soft cover book in very good condition - first published 1983 this is a revised 2005 reprint from Reed - 289 pages - b/w photographs

Historian Michael King documents the history of the Maori using rarely seen photographs from 1852 to the more common images of Waitangi Day protestors in 1982. Comprehensive text and outstanding images make this a much sought after social history.
The multitude of photographs in the book show how things were in the recent Maori past; the text explores why such things were. The two are grouped together because of Michael King's belief that we must learn about our past to understand the present.
