Jimi Hendrix (They Died Too Young)
by:Tom Stockdale

Jimi Hendrix, the ultimate counterculture icon, represented the essence of the free-living experimental age. Though he completed only a few record albums in his brief career, he was recognized as an extraordinary musical talent & was even chosen to headline Woodstock – a music festival filled with many of the era’s greatest performers, & an event that has come to symbolize the hopes & dreams of the Hippie generation. A remarkable guitarist who counted Paul McCartney & Eric Clapton among his admirers, Hendrix was an individualist who made his statements through the songs he wrote & played.
Hendrix was passionate about music from a very early age. Born in Seattle, he was buried there a mere 27 years later, amid much speculation about his final days. He left behind a vast quantity of unfinished work, but he also gave the world a musical legacy that endures as strongly as ever.
