Taniwha, Giants and Supernatural Creatures
He Taniwha, He Tipua, He Patupaiarehe

By A.W Reed aned Ross Calman

141 pages, softcover

For centuries Maori were isolated from the rest of the Polynesian world and subsequently developed a remarkably rich and unique mythology. These stories are not just entertaining; they are a part of every New Zealander's cultural heritage. This book - volume 1 of a series dedicated to Maori stories - contains traditional stories of taniwha and supernatural guardians, monsters, giants, ogres and ogresses and fairy-folk of the forest.
