Captain Parsons was born in 1900, and enlisted in The Royal Marine Artillery in 1918.

Soft cover, 1985, 63pages, with black and white photographs, very good condition

In an adventurous career with the Royal Marines and the New Zealand Regular Force, he did his share olsea time, was in Turkey during the confrontation with Kemal Pasha, 1922 23, spent a happy period with the New Zealand Division of the Royal Navy, and during the 193945 war, was involved in the Defence of Britain, and the invasions of Si( ily and Normandy.

He became a Founder Life Member of the Royal Marines Association, and has been an executive member of several Ex Servicemens organisations in New Zealand, including The Kings Empire Veterans and the Army Association.

For many years he has been active in the administration of cricket, thoroughbred breeding and racing. He is a Life Member of the Royal Marines Saddle Club, and a member of the Auckland Racing Club.

Captain Parsons is well known in the Cat ring World as an Adviser, Judge, Examiner and .Writer, and is a Life Member and Silver Medalist of the Cookery and Food Association. He was Registered for the Meritorious Service Medal, for good services during an enemy air attack on the Depot, Royal Marines, Deal, on 29th October, 1940., and in 1977, he was awarded The Queens Silver Jubilee Medal for Community Services.

He continues to report and write on various subjects under the pen name "ONLOOKER
