Description

Published by Harper Collins in 2009. 303 pages : lots of lovely illustrations, 24 cm

New Zealand s most iconic and largest surviving department store chain. From humble beginnings in 1909 the organisation now boasts 58 stores spread the length of the country with over 4,000 staff. It hasn’t been an easy journey however it has resulted in enduring success. The author also the biographer of the chains founder Robert Laidlaw provides an in depth account of the firm, its activities, the staff and the customers. The book is easy reading, has interesting illustrations and provides insight into how Farmers has made the journey to where it is today.

In good condition. A lovely book to own for nostalgia value as we have all grown up with the Farmers and some of us have worked there as well.
