“A paperback dense with cat-goodness. Lots of art over the ages, and lots of cat-love in poems, short stories and essays. Artists from Klee to Picasso and many details from larger works showing close-up of cats (which demonstrate how hard it can be to render a cat). The writers (probably 100) range from Patricia Highsmith to Thomas Hardy and Mark Twain. An excellent volume to pick up at any time one has a cat craving, and look at a few drawings and perhaps read a poem about a cat named Dostoievsky ("The kids called him Dusty..."). Altogether splendid.”
