Photography and text b y Graham Stewart. Pub 1997

As new condition.

A unique photographic portfolio of Dunedin as it was in the 1950s - the cable cars swarming with commuters, the trams loaded with people and prams, the Trammies, the suburbs, the streets, the shops and the advertisements of the period.

When the municipal transport services were used by the majority of the citizens - before the motorcar reigned supreme. Everyone took a cable car or an electric tram to town.

At each terminus a cluster of small shops - a dairy, a butcher, a grocer, a hairdresser, tobacconist, a chemist and a magazine shop.

These photographs taken by Graham Stewart over 40 years ago vividly illustrate how the city has changed and will interest those who know and love Dunedin.

Pick ups available from either Dunedin CDB, Mosgiel or Wellington CBD
