The story of Masha Williams, born a 'White' Russian who had fled to the West with her family at the revolution in 1917. She came to Vienna as a Russian interpreter for the British in 1945-46 full of preconception about the 'Red' monsters and slowly her view of them changed. By the time she left, having married the British Consul, she was held in high esteem by both British and Russian Commanders
