Captain Creswell is particularly well qualified to write the history of naval operations from 1939-1945 for not only did he publish a successful book on navel strategy in 1936 but he also worked during the war in the Plans Division of the Admiralty, moreover for this new volume he has access to all the material published by the British Admiralty and the United States Navy Board, and he has succeeded in producing from the cast mass of official documents a book of distinction and of the utmost interest.
