This is the story of some of those that were saved and of the section of the Armed Forces which saved them – the Monuments, Fine Arts and Archives Section (MFAA) of the Allied armed forces, the 350 people from 13 nations, known as the Monuments Men. At the end of the war 60 of these, mainly British and American, were working in Europe
