This centennial account of the Church of England's Nelson Diocese, from 1858 to 1958, includes information on prior activitries in the area from 1842, when the first organised settlers from England arrived to form what was the third of the NZ Company's settlements. While basically a history of the Church of England in the Nelson province it is also important for the detailed discriptions of pioneering in NZ, as well as of more contemporary events. 384 pages including chronology and index, b/w art frontis, two maps, 20 b/w illustrations including portraits.
