Catherine and William and William's father Robert Marshall came to New Zealand on the sailing ship "Cheviot" in 1862 from Glasgow to Dunedin to settle at Omimi, Otago. Although my mother Mrs Joyce White nee Marshall, hardly knew her parents, she was very fond of Granny Marshall and all the Marshall family and delighted in relating stories and history the way she had been told, to nieces and nephews and her own family.
