Like the "Wickliffe Rose", many of them have probably survived and have become part of the horticulture scene of the Province. The present Blatch family are fortunate to have had early members who cherished the rose brought by their relative Henry Blatch, from Esher in Surrey in 1848. They are the beneficiaries of the story of its progress passed by word-of-mouth, as part of the family's history, through the generations.
