RELIGION AND RACE IN NEW ZEALAND
by Hans Mol

The National Council of Churches in New Zealand is well aware of the danger that churches may say one thing and practise another. it therefore commissioned a sociologist to make an objective study of what New Zealand churches say and what they actually do in regard to racial minorities. Do policy and practice agree?

Dr Mol's analysis and judgment are hardly likely to be immediately accepted by every reader. But here is a serious attempt to get at the facts, mainly in regard to the place of Maori in churches dominated by pakehas.
