Edited by Winston G Ramsey. Large Book in Dust Jacket, First Published in 1980 this revised edition reprint 1987, Black and White Photographs, illustrations, maps, 816 Pages, end papers, Published by Battle of Britain Prints International London. Contains loosely enclosed two newspaper articles and an original Black and White photograph of Air Coomodore Frank Gill with a seperate sheet of notes by Jim Lawrence, whose nice engraved ex libris plate is inside the front cover- Jim Lawrence Squadron Engineer Oficer 145 Squadron.

'Contains over 1700 pictures and half a million words of text contributed by speialists. It does not attempt to re-tell the story of the battle once again. Instead it has been the Editors intention to bring a new aspect to the combat between July 10-October 31, 1941, through the presentation of comparative 'then and now' photographs. Never before has such detailed coverage been given to the losses of either the Royal Air Force or the Luftwaffe. The gravesof Raf aircrew that were killed have been listed, visited by the editorial team and photographed as a complete and lasting record of those who died. The pilots, their memorials, crashes and crash sites, and the aircraft that have survived are profusely illustrated. Twenty of the most famous fighter aerodromes from which they flew have been explored and are described as they were at the time aqnd as they are today, with a particularly detailed account of one typical front line station. Also included is a complete listing of 'The Few'- all those aircrew who participated in the Battle. Plus illustrated indexes of aircraft and personnel together with a pen portrait of Pilot Officer Keith Gillman featured on the Dust Jacket' Fantastic History of the battle with much on the NZders who participated.
