Penguin, 1966
1st Edition
Paperback, 222pp.

One of several collections of Herbert's "Misleading Cases" which were satirical pieces, in the form of law reports or judgements, on various aspects of the British legal and judiciary system. These were written with such realism that on occasion they were mistaken for real cases. Herbert pursued a variety of interests, including law and writing, and was for fifteen years MP for Oxford University as an Independent. He campaigned for reform in areas like divorce and obscenty, and used these 'misleading cases' to illustrate his views.

Good condition paperback with spinefade and edgewear, sunning, foxing. Tight and square.
