This is the first 1987 Unwin Paperbacks edition of the Hobbit, in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of Tolkien's original book.

This large format (25.5x20.5cm) softcover book is beautifully illustrated throughout by Michael Hague, who also illustrated The Wind in the Willows among other great works.

290pp in heavy paper, this is a solid book 1kg in weight.

In VG condition or better, with the only notable blemishes being some curling of the front cover corners, a light crease to the front cover, and very slight yellowing of page edges and endpages. Pages in beautiful clean condition. No inscriptions or writing inside, no creasing of spine.

This book is hard to find, and this is an excellent copy for a Tolkien collector.
