R M BALLANTYNE – BLUE LIGHTS NISBET – EARLY ISSUE

Red boards with palm tree and pine trees at base. Pictorial spine and red back board with a little fading in places. Interior has no inscriptions. A little mottling on inside of front board but no inscriptions. An odd age spot but no foxing and the illustrations are all present. A little wear at base of spine and corners bumped.

R M BALLANTYNE – TALES OF ADVENTURE CONTENTS 1 Cannibal Islands 2 Chasing the Sun 3 Lost in the Forest JAMES NISBET – INSCRIPTION 1910 Pictorial cover and spine with a small amount of wear to edges, spine and corners. Inscription on FEP and mild age marks through the book. Each story has a frontis like a new book with an illustration as well. There is a frontpiece and title page for each story. There are two pages in the third story with tears that don’t effect the print. Some yellowing around edges particularly towards the latter part of the book. Binding firm on a hard to find book.

R M BALLANTYNE – THE LONELY ISLAND Pictorial boards of man leaning on a canon talking with two children. There is some splitting of material between spine and front board and corners are bumped. Interior is very clean with a few age spots but otherwise good. Frontpiece and 4 illustrations all present. Binding firm. 34 pages of adverts at back.

R M BALLANTYNE – PHILOSPHER JACK NISBET – No date but seventh thousand. (1894 inscription)

Pictorial boards of man in canoe paddling into a sunset. Boards show age with wear around edges and at each end of spine. School award on FEP dated Dec 1894. The interior is a little delicate with pages being stitched and now a little loose. Not collapsing but there is some looseness in the binding. There is also a quite heavy yellowing to the pages – not enough to hinder the reading but quite a bit all the same. 11 illustrations all present.
