The Boston Daily Advertiser (est. 1813) was first daily newspaper in Boston. Chief editor was journalist Nathan Hale. Became very influential. It opposed the Missouri Compromise of 1820 & Kansas-Nebraska Act in 1854. First paper to recommend free colonization of Kansas
