After the war The Kiwi's endeared themselves as much to civilian audiences as they had to the forces overseas. The troupe's tour of the major cities of Australia & New Zealand extended into a record-breaking eight years. The Kiwis offered an army show with a difference had much to di with the musical & theatrical background of long-term deviser & leader Terry Vaughan. At a wartime performance for the children of Malta, the concert party was given a souvenir of the occasion - a silver model of a fishing boat from the nearby island of Gozo. That little boat became the group's mascot and good luck charm of enduring significance to individual members but a fond memory.
