Artist Proof Stone Coloured Lithograph - by Mary Mcintyre - a renown local artist - dating back to 1983.

It is unframed, but has been stored backed with Cardboard, so aside from minor foxxing, it is in pretty good condition. Would look excellent framed.

Mary McIntyre's early artistic career was guided under Colin McCahon, in the late 1960's, and she began to artwork as a full-time endeavor in 1980. Often, her works are portraits, or self portraits with a surrealist quality - and exhibit a particular fascination with musculature and anatomy.

She is a spectacularly interesting, and well documented figure in the contemporary New Zealand art scene - in recent years, a book been published documenting some of her practice and career - written by Robin Woodward, a Senior Lecturer of Art History at Auckland university. It is published by Whitespace, the gallery through which Mcintyre releases her works.

This is undoubtedly a piece of New Zealand art history, and is set to only become more recognized and sought after.
