RADIAL ELECTRIC MOTOR - A NEW TYPE OF MOTOR

- Listing #: 479977797
This is my very first prototype of a new method for building an electric motor. It is designed to use very little power when operating an electric vehicle cruising at a steady speed. Another electric motor would be used to provide the higher torque required when starting off and getting up to speed.
This engine/motor is shown here in the normal vertical operating position. The aluminium backplate is approximately 400mm square.
The reason this motor can be made to consume very little power is that we are relying on each solenoid's inductance to create a magnetic field, and that does not use electrical power. Power is only dissipated in the solenoids' resistances. The next solenoid to be fired is determined by a preprogrammed microprocessor, that is included.
This was developed into an R&D project (please see another of my listings on Trademe) that used up more than $100,000 of R&D money and there is still a great deal of work to be done. I would estimate that another $500k of R&D funding would be needed to complete this project. There is still a lot to do, and the project will need a good engineer working on it.
THERE ARE PROBABLY MANY MORE APPLICATIONS.
This design of electric motor is sufficiently novel to justify filing patents so I cannot say too much about it in a public forum such as this. My distributor system for determining which solenoid to fire next is quite novel (I believe). More details can be given in an interview - just ask through a question.
Runs ok, and happy to demonstrate to anyone interested.
I am an experienced (electronics) engineer and if someone wanted to sponsor the R&D costs for this project I would be willing to assist. There would be difficulties but the potential rewards are actually quite staggering. Are there any entrepreneurs out there prepared to take some risks? Maybe an offshore buyer could be interested, somewhere where new technology is encouraged eg Israel, Singapore, Finland etc?
