BenQ Joybook S41 - GPU Fault - For repair\spares

This laptop is working but has graphics problems.

Symptoms: Occasionally the picture comes up fine but when doing anything graphic intensive (like playing games), the machine crashes.
Other times the picture will come up with white dots but most of the time it's just blank with thin white lines across the screen.
It seems there is an intermittent connection somewhere, I believe related to the GPU itself (Geforce 8)

I believe that a reflow\reball etc of the GPU should fix it but of course I make no guarantees on that, so this laptop is sold AS IS, no refunds.

If you can fix this problem yourself or can get it fixed, you should be able to get yourself a good deal, it's a very nice feature-packed little laptop otherwise.


Everything else is in good condition, bar some wear\light scratches on keyboard\laptop body etc as to be expected from normal usage.
The screen has odd 'smudge' effect, top-centre when turned on. No dead pixels. Not really noticeable when in operation.
