4x Padded Needlelace - Sacha Berries

Designed by Janet M Davies at JMD DESIGNS here in New Zealand.

This design is 18 cms (7 inches)) square in size. This is a modern design based on Padded Needlelace. (commonly used in Raised Elizabethan designs) Pockets of Needle Lace are stitched directly onto the fabric and then padded to produce raised stitched areas. Metallic thread and beads add texture and appeal to the design.

Included are step by step stitching instructions.
Lots of stitch diagrams.
Also included is an extra 3 design drawings you can stitch that are adaptations to the main design here.

Perle 8 thread has been used to stitch with. But Cotton-a-broader #16 can be used successfully also as a substitute for Perle 8 thread. Stranded cottons, rayon and silks can be used but only if you have good even tension with the strands in the needle while stitching. Perle 8 or Cotton-a-broader #16 is suggested for use for those new to the stitching of Needle Lace.
