Jewellery making is as much a craft as an art - knowledge of simple processe and practical skill are necessary before the would-be designer can exercise his artistic talents. Many of the illustrations are of the authors own work, which he designs and sells, and others show pieces produced by his students at Birmingham Polytechnic where he lecture jewellery making and siiversmithing.
