Natural Wool Dyes and Recipes
Ann Milner

Soft-Cover - First Published 1971
Dunedin, New Zealand
O.K. Condition - Inside Covers and a Few Pages Covered in Dampness Spots, but No Pages Stuck Together or Ripped

This book is for the New Zealand and Australian home dyer.

It sets out simply, yet comprehensively, how the native flora of New Zealand, and much of Australia, can be used to full advantage to give a full range of rich, rewarding colours to complement homespun wool and other yarns.

Each dye has been exposed to four mordants so that each produces four colours.

An attempt has been made to give dyeing times and the author has tested each dye.

There is also a large section on lichen dyeing which has previously not been fully exploited in Australasia.

The contents are easy enough for the new dyer to follow without effort yet provide food for thought for the more experienced dyer.
