Oil lamps were used throughout the Biblical era. A lamp was filled with olive oil and provided light for many hours. This kit contains two oil lamps; mosaic tiles, glue, grout, sponge, two wicks and a mixing stick.

Bibleworld curator note: The manufacturers of this kit promote it by saying you can create ‘replica of a biblical clay oil lamp’. In all our research at Bibleworld we have never come across any evidence of ancient lamps being decorated with mosaic tiles (although mosaic was a known art at the time of Jesus). However this kit will enable you to make two cute little working lamps.
