The Raku Kiln is constructed of ceramic fibre blanket rated to 1430oC held within a rigid steel mesh frame. The kiln has been designed with excellent insulation properties while remaining lightweight for portability. The frame has been protected against corrosion.
The kiln weighs 9kg with an internal dimension of 600h x 460dia.
The atmospheric burner is a 25mm venturi type rated at 32 to 74 MJ/HR.
The initial fast firing to 1000oC takes 20-30 minutes with consequent firings in as little as 10 minutes.
The full kit includes the kiln body, burner/stand, firebox base, shut off valve, hose assembly and adjustable regulator.
The kiln and burner is manufactured in accordance with NZ Standard: 5262
