At the heart of the 580EX is the world-class Canon EOS E-TTL II flash exposure system. When combined with a digital or film SLR, the 580EX's light output is calculated automatically, to perfectly expose any scene, regardless of the lighting condition.
In addition to this powerful feature, a 580EX can also be used to trigger other Canon Speedlites, wirelessly. For ultimate control, the output of the wirelessly triggered flashes can also be set remotely, via the camera-mounted speedlite. The 580EX can also be triggered off camera by an infrared controller: the Canon ST-E2... The creative possibilities are endless.
