This softbox is similar in it's effect to using a white translucent shoot through umbrella but the white reflective inner lining creates more diffusion and greater light output. The outer black fabric also reduces light scatter.

A very soft and diffused light source.

The umbrella soft box is far simpler, lighter and is more easily manipulated than a soft box and is suited to all flashes, not requiring a speed ring.
