This External Mod Chip (Jail break type) Memory Card install allows you to:

This can be used on any Original (FAT) PS2 Console and almost all PS2 Slimline models (It will not work on consoles made after March 2008) General rule; if the model number has SCPH-90xxx then it will not work.
