The RSS (Rucksack Stretcher System) is primarily a day-sack or emergency 'grab bag', but has the unique ability to wholly unzip to become an Emergency Rescue Stretcher.
In an Emergency, a casualty in imminent life-threatening danger can be placed on the Rescue Stretcher, which has been specially designed to fit in Civil Aviation Authority approved winched baskets or stretchers which elevates having to move casualties once secure in the RSS .
The RSS in the Rescue Stretcher mode can be configured for lifting by two, three, four or more people (if available) or rigged using poles when fed through all of the lifting handles enabling a comfortable two or four-person lift.
The casualty, once securely strapped in, can be lifted horizontally, vertically and even upside down, or can be turned on their side for first aid purposes or to ease negotiating difficult extractions, i.e. to go through tight holes and spaces.
This Multi-functional Rucksack can act as a Rucksack to carry your kit or First Aid kit and as a Rescue Stretcher, and can be configured into two or three addition packs and a bum bag once the stretcher is deployed allowing stowage of all kit and it only weighs 4.9kg.
The Rescue Stretcher is covered by EU standards BSI 2004 and is a proven product, which has been used operationally for a number of years by numerous organisations including Royal Marines Commandos, the SAS, UK Police, Coastguard and Mountain Rescue Units.
In New Zealand it is currently being used Operationally by NZ LandSAR and
NZ Civil Defence.
ThistleNZ has the exclusive distribution rights for this unique stretcher in Australasia, New Zealand and the Pacific Island and holds stock in Black (which is the most popular colour, but other colours are available on request)
The RSS is a third the weight of normal Rescue Stretchers and half the price and can be used as a normal Rucksack or three separate ones.
