Description
(Calendula Officinalis) Flowers are gathered when fully opened. Its nutritional constituents are vitamins A, C, E and coenzyme Q10 and minerals Phosphorus and Calcium. Calendula is antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory and when taken internally has significant antioxidant activity. The medicinal uses for this herb are in the treatment of cardiovascular system particularly varicose veins; the gastrointestinal tract for ulcers, indigestion, liver congestion and externally for wounds and inflammation, fungal infection, eczema and acne.
Common Uses: Dried petals as a tea, tincture, or infused oil. The petals are often used in soap making. The fresh plant can be prepared as a tea or tincture. The fresh flowers are edible.
Pharmacy 3 times daily: Infusion of dried herb 1-4g Tincture 1:5 (40%) 0.3 - 1.2 ml
